Meet the Team
Retreat & Adventure Hosts
Joe's story begins with a deep routed love for the ocean and our magical coastline. Since being a child he has always wanted to live by the sea.
Wild & Free Adventures combines everything Joe’s passionate about, from the surfing and yoga, to travelling and the ocean. Joe finds running the retreats so rewarding as you meet so many new people, as well as help protect our planet and oceans.
Joe is a qualified ISA Level 1 Surf Coach and certified in Surf Coach Safety. If you are interested in one to one lessons please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Amanda completed her Teacher Training in the heart of the jungle in the mountains of stunning Sri Lanka... surrounded by nature and wildlife, which has inspired her to take yoga outside whenever possible.
Whether that's to the beach (on our retreats), or any outside space... breathing in the fresh air and relaxing to sounds of nature (or the ocean), practicing yoga outside really enhances your yoga practice and calms the mind.
Whether it is outdoors or inside, she creates a safe, welcoming and calm environment for you to practice your yoga in.
At every location, we choose to work with a local team and surf school. This way, we contribute to the communities we visit. Discover more about that here.
Our Amazing UK Chefs
As a chef Bjorn has always strived to use new ingredients to set his cooking apart from the normal offerings, so he began to explore what could be foraged and its uses.
His foraging adventure began... from then on it became a passion of his to rediscover a lot of the lost ingredients we no longer use in our modern existence.
His keen interest in surfing also inspires many of the coastal ingredients he uses on our retreats.
Nikita lives in North Devon and on the doorstep of one of our favourite surf beaches. So also loves a surf too! She has worked on retreats for a number of years sharing her passion for food and the benefits of the Ayurvedic diet.
Nikita is a vegan and gluten free development chef who last year helped set up a vegan restaurant in Brighton and regularly cooks for Ayurvedic retreats at the Mandala Yoga Ashram in Wales.
Nikita is passionate about teaching people to create food that nourishes the body, awakens the taste buds and looks after the planet. She has been teaching plant based cooking classes for five years and runs a consultancy business called Vegan Wise.
For Tanya food is really about Joy and she makes that central to her cooking. Meals that are led by flavour, texture and a deep love and respect for food and the ritual of eating are on every menu.
Vegetables are the centre of each dish and vibrant, seasonal, whole grain, delicious creations are produced to nourish people’s bodies and minds, impacting positively on their experience.
She believes that slow, simple and sustainable living will allow us to be more aligned with the natural world and can improve health and happiness. “Food is life, it is the centre and we can use it to help us connect and respect both ourselves and the world around us.”
