Why you should never drink water in a room full of negativity (words and thoughts matter)

Glasses of water

Water is always listening – it remembers everything you say and shapes the world around you in more ways than you think.

We are made up of 70% water, "hold that thought for a moment" and then read the rest of this and it may make you think about the words you use, not just when talking to others, but more importantly our thoughts and how we speak towards ourselves and bodies.

In 1994 a Japanese researcher, businessman, author and pseudosciencetist Masaru Emoto began experiments exploring how people’s words, thoughts, and music affect water at a molecular level.

Masaru published a New York Times Best Seller 'The Hidden messages in Water' in 2004 sharing and demonstrating his research and it makes for a good read.

Water remembers your love, your anger, your gratitude.

What Masaru was demonstrating in his experiments and his book was that, when you "think a thought, it alters matter". In his book he shares examples of the patterns formed in water when frozen after being exposed to different words (and music).

He studied and photographed water under microscope when frozen (after an experiment) to demonstrate some interesting examples, as seen below.

Masaru labelled containers of water (taken from the same source/body of water) with different words and spoke to these containers differently. He found was that the containers of water exposed to words like 'love', "gratitude' and 'hope' (positive words) created beautiful crystal formations in the water when frozen. Compared to the water that was exposed to words that were negative, or hurtful like 'hate', 'fool' or "you disgust me", and these containers of water when frozen, did not crystalise in the same way and instead produced cloudy, muddy like patterns.

This example above is from the same water source and frozen at the same time, so the only difference is the way that they are labeled and the intention of those words.

So what could be happening to the water in the glass infront of you, if you are in a negative enviroment?

What about the water in our bodies?

Masaru also found similar results when he studied the effects that music had on water. The same applied, when exposed to different types of music, for example, water didn't crystalise when exposed to heavier music.

Here's an interesting video summarising the different experiements he did with water HERE

He also studied different types of water and discoverd that different types and 'qualtiy' of water, from streams, rivers, glacias and dams produced different formations when froszen and this was also linked to the quality of that water. Masaru also reports the effects of toxic water before and after a buddhist monks blessed the water.

This Book Review is quite a nice summary HERE

Ripples in water

Water is always listening – it remembers everything you say.

This simple experiment displays a profound message highlighting the energy currency our words carry – and how the language we use can shape both our surroundings and ourselves.

The average body is 70% water in adulthood. However, we start life embraced in water – being made up 99% of it when we are foetuses, and 90% once we are born. A percentage that only decreases as we grow older. In essence, our life force was begun and is maintained by the existence of water. In these terms it is easier to understand the importance that this experiment holds especially, for our wellbeing.

“A drop in the pond creates ripples.”

What are words really doing to you - and why does your body remember them?

A single thought in the mind can echo through your whole body. We are reminded that the only way to exist harmoniously with ourselves, we must think and speak with gratitude and love.

Speak as though your body is listening – because it hears you.
