Information

The day and date of our celebration and wedding is Saturday 2nd August 2025 from 1.30pm.

The wedding ceremony will be at Exeter County Hall at 1.30pm: County Hall, Exeter, EX2 4QD

The wedding reception will be at The Pig at Combe at 7pm: The Pig at Combe, Gittisham, Honiton EX14 3AD

Things to bring

Payment method for drinks (cards and digital wallets accepted)

Warm top for the evening (something waterproof if the weather doesn't hold)

Suncream and hat if it is HOT!

Please note only alcohol provided or purchased from the bar is allowed on site

Schedule

1pm Arrival at County Hall

1.30pm Wedding ceremony on the patio area

2.30pm Leave County Hall for accommodation

2.30pm to 6.30pm Travel time, settle into accommodation, glamming up time

6.45pm Arrive at The Pig at Combe

7pm Welcome drinks at The Folly opposite the main hotel

7.45pm Buffet is served (yummy)

8.30pm Speeches and cake (double yummy)

11.30pm Close and carriages

Food & Drink

We will be serving food at 7.45pm on the day so please do have a decent breakfast and lunch before arrival, there is plenty of time before or after the wedding ceremony to get some lunch.

The main meal served will be a seasonal buffet feast prepared by The Pig Hotel at 7.45pm. Meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options will be provided and any dietary requirements considered. Please get in touch using our form here if you have any dietary requirements so that we can cater for you. Please RSVP by 1st June 2025 with your dietary requirements.

There will be other snacks and sweets served throughout the evening.

The Pig at Combe is a paying bar however we will be providing some welcome drinks etc. Please do bring some money for the bar.

Having heard your feedback, we know most of you have sorted your accommodation. However, if anyone requires any help, please do get in touch with Joe on 07747632020.

Getting there

County Hall is located off Topsham Road in Exeter. Parking is available on site and this is pay and display. More details about getting there can be found here: https://www.devon.gov.uk/help/visiting-county-hall/

We would advise arriving a bit earlier as apparently the main car park can get quite busy. It would be nice if we could all arrive at 1pm, with the bride arriving (on time of course) independently of the groom. Joe will be at County Hall with his best men to welcome guests.

Once the ceremony is finished we all have plenty of time to get some food if required, get to our accommodation and get changed for the wedding reception at The Pig at Combe.

The Pig at Combe is located about 30-35 minutes from County Hall along the A30 from Exeter. Please do allow some time for traffic during the holidays. Details of the hotel can be found here: https://www.thepighotel.com/at-combe/

There is free parking at the hotel. The wedding reception will be held in The Folly building which you walk past from the car park to the main hotel. There is a picture above.

If you are planning on arriving or leaving by taxi please arrange this in advance. The hotel will be able to help with this as they are amazing.

What to wear

Wedding Ceremony at County Hall - This is not a formal wedding ceremony for us as such so please wear something comfortable and summery. Suits are not required for gents.

Wedding Reception at The Pig: This is your chance to get dressed up and have some fun. Please wear cocktail dresses for the ladies and black tie for the gents (bow ties only please).

Gifts

We understand that everything is challenging for us all at the moment and that you all have a long way to come and expenses to join us and celebrate in Devon. Your attendance is so important to us and all we need as a gift. This is everyone's opportunity to be together and celebrate so we do not expect any gifts.

Q&A

What time should I arrive?

1pm at County Hall and 6.45pm at The Pig at Combe.

Where should I park?

Please use the car parks illustrated above at County Hall and allow time to find a space as it gets busy. Parking at The Pig is free.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The wedding ceremony will be held outside at County Hall on the patio area. If the weather is inclement, this will be moved inside to the Clinton Room. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

We have use of The Folly at The Pig and therefore have indoor and outside space.

What type of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Wear shoes that you can shine in! The patio area at County Hall is accessed over grass so if the ground is wet please bear this in mind for high heels.

The Folly at The Pig is accessed via paved pathways so all shoe types are fine. Please note there are grassed areas around The Folly and gardens if you wanted to have a wander.

How do I get home?

If you are intending on using a taxi to get home please, arrange this in advance with the hotel reception who can be contacted on 01404 540 400.

What is the food situation?

The buffet will be served from 7.45pm and there will be some cake later in the evening. Please do have a good breakfast and lunch before you arrive.

Is there phone signal?

Yes and you should also be able to get 4G and 5G at County Hall. There is phone signal at The Pig and free wifi for guests.

Are dogs allowed?

We are afraid not. The Pig do allow dogs outside however we would advise leaving them at home so you can enjoy your evening.
