Cocktails at the pool bar, sunsets in the cabanas, sea views, morning yoga, surf checks from our bed, what more could you want from a hotel stay?
We arrived at the Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay, Morocco this December after our surf and yoga retreat for a little retreat of our own. We believe it's always important to take time for yourself and although December brings us the Christmas holidays, it's not always the calm respite we are searching for. So we booked our couple of days stay with the Hyatt to celebrate the year together in the hot African sun.
We were greeted straight away as we clambered out of our car by the staff, who handed us some refreshing cucumber water and took our luggage straight to reception (feels amazing when you have been carrying 5 surfboards around with you.) The lovely staff at the Hyatt showed us straight to our modern, spacious room with a sea view. Perfect! We could check the surf whenever we wanted.
Hyatt Taghazout Bay Review
After a quick freshen up, we headed straight to the bar for cocktails and watched the sun go down in the cabanas overlooking the ocean below. It felt like such a treat to enjoy our mojitos in such a perfect, dreamy setting.
Dinner and breakfast at the hotel was served in their restaurant, freshly prepared by the hotel's chefs. The service was buffet style, we enjoyed salads, pasta, homous for dinner and for breakfast fresh fruits, yoghurt, eggs on request, cereal, smoothies, everything you could want to eat was there ready for you.
Morning soon arrived which meant for some morning yoga, which such a beautiful, tranquil garden, there's so many spots to roll out your mat and practice. If you don't fancy being outside, the inside 24 hour Stay Fit Gym is the perfect place to work on your alignment. However, with so many peaceful pools around, it's definitely better to take your practice outside at the Hyatt. We loved the sustainable approach the hotel had to their gardens and water systems, recycling the water so as not to waste any.
Re-fueling at breakfast, we then caught the complimentary shuttle bus to the surf break at Panorama's to jump in the ocean and ride some waves. The long, golden beach is the perfect place to spend the day with sun loungers and camels walking by, you get a little taste of the Moroccan culture. And when the sun becomes too hot, the shuttle can take you straight back to the hotel to cool down in on of the many pools, all at different temperatures.
Our last day we made the most of the hotel, swimming, enjoying the golf course, using the gym, reading in the library and enjoying the jacuzzi in the Asenfo Spa. Our second evening at the Hyatt was blessed with a stunning sunset, filling the sky with reds, purples, oranges and setting the clouds on fire. It was the perfect time for a glass of wine on the outside sofas to round up the end of our Moroccan adventure and say goodbye to the beautiful country. What a way to end the trip, soaking in the sun and luxury at the Hyatt Taghazout Bay, finding a restorative break and feeling inspired for our next trip away.
If you are looking for some winter sun, a little culture and a stress free holiday, then we thoroughly recommend the Hyatt Taghazout Bay. There's no better place to get your sunshine hit and well earned break this winter!
