4 Reasons Why We LOVE September in Cornwall

There's something about the Cornish coastline in September. Something that draws you in and makes you feel wild and free. There's a rawness about living here, there's an energy that lights you up, whether you are surfing some waves in a secret cove or hiking the headlands to spot basking sharks and dolphins at play. We can't get enough of it.

Here's why we love September in Cornwall so much -

1. The school holiday's are OVER!

If you've ever come to Cornwall in the summer months you know how busy the roads, shops and cafe's can get. When the summer crowds have long disappeared, it gives you a chance to explore a calmer Cornwall (the one we all love), visit the popular towns with no crowds and guess what, the beaches are empty with waves all to yourself! Bliss.

2. The weather is still BEAUTFUL!

Who say's summer is over come September? Mother nature definitely doesn't pay attention to our calendar. The majority of September blesses us with clear skies and turquoise seas. It's when you can see Cornwall at it's most picturesque. It's also when the water is at it's warmest, meaning long surf sessions and summer wetsuits.

3. The FESTIVALS!

There are plenty of festivals going on all round Cornwall. Listen to the live music at the Looe Music Festival. Head to St Ives September Fest for the two week long celebration full of culture, food, music and entertainment. Try our locally caught fish at the Newquay Fish Festival. 4. Our WILD & FREE YURT ESCAPE!

We love that we get to share our favourite time of the year in Cornwall with all of you lucky lot on our Yurt Surf & Yoga retreat. We get to stay in the luxury yurts at The Park, Cornwall, sleeping under the stars with log fires and food cooked by our personal chef. We wake up every morning, to meditation in our communal yurt and an energising yoga flow by Philly Lewis. We spend the day at the beach just a short walk away, surfing the waves with King Surf and Alan Stokes. We finish with Yin Yoga on the decking surrounded by lush trees, looking out to the rolling hills. It is pure heaven! For more info on our Surf and Yoga retreat, head to our Cornwall Retreat page.
